Multiple Teams · Calumet Wins At Chassell

Calumet equaled its longest winning streak of the year by cruising past Chassell on the road Tuesday.  Winners of three in a row, the Kings had three scorers in double figures. They were led by 20 points from Jake Pieti, 12 in the first half as the Copper Kings established a 31-15 lead.  Paul Torola kicked in 19, much of it by getting to the free-throw line throughout the night. Jack Hyrkas made four threes and added 14 points.

“We battled for stretches, but just can’t seem to put a solid 32 minutes together,” Chassell coach Bill Sleeman said.

Chassell’s offense was paced by a 13-point night from Zach Cherubini.  The Panthers fall to 1-12 and host Jeffers Friday for their last home game of the season. Calumet (9-4) hosts West Iron County Friday night.
